How To Clean The Sensors On Your RV Black Holding Tank
The Geo Method
This is probably the best way and NOT mentioned in the video below. ADD: 1/2 of a tank of water,
a handful of Borax Soap, 1/2 cup of Calgon Water Softener and some
Bleach while you drive. This will help clean your RV black holding
tank.
Quite often, after you dump your black RV holding tank, the gauge will still say it's full.
In this video the author gives some good ideas for cleaning off those pesky sensors.
Use a Lot of Water When Flushing
Sorry, but the black tank needs a lot of water. If you're dry camping and you're trying to conserve,
try putting a 5 gallon bucket in the shower to capture excess water that you can put in the toilet.
Use a Tank Washer Wand
One way to clean your sensors is by using a Tank Washer Wand you can put down the toilet.
Fill It With Water
After you dump you can use your green hose to fill that baby up and rinse it out. Be very careful not to over fill.
5 Gallon Bucket of Warm Water
Many times to warm water will loosen the debris.
Residential Toilet Chemical Cleaner
Mr Plummer type chemical is designed to clean out clogs. This can be helpful used in limited amounts.
Crushed Ice
This is not in the video but, a bag of crushed ice down the toilet while you drive down the road can be abrasive enough to clean
the sensors.
